“I took Julie’s Usui/Holy Fire I and II Reiki classes recently. I am an empath and had come to a point in my life where I felt a spiritual void. I have been looking for ways to enrich that part of my life in a way that isn’t invasive or necessarily religious. “If you aren’t familiar with reiki, it’s a Japanese healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation and promotes healing. Curious about the healing modality, I signed up for Julie’s ICRT-Certified Reiki I and II training classes. It’s over the course of a weekend from 9 AM-6 PM (though class sometimes let’s out early between 5 and 5:30 PM) with a 45 minute lunch break. It’s taught in her lovely and cleansed home, and the class I enrolled in had about 10 students. The first day is Reiki Level 1 and the second day is Reiki Level 2. The first day went over the history of reiki, what it is, hand placement, a sound healing/bath session, and included a couple of placements/attunements. It was very hands on and included a lot of story-telling rather than textbook teaching, so it wasn’t all that draining (to me at least). A lot of the class was meditation-based, so I felt very zen after each day. The second day went over attunements, distance healing, symbols, the structure of a reiki session, business practices, and also included a couple of attunements. We practiced hand placements and symbols on each other using reiki tables, so it was very much hands on instruction.
I really enjoyed the class, if not to learn a different modality for natural healing, then for the zen-like qualities it bestowed upon everyone in class. It was liberating, relaxing, and made you feel at peace with yourself and everyone around you. I’m quite the skeptic, but I’ll see for myself what it’s all about! I’m already a pretty chill and happy person, and that I came out of there that much more enlightened said a lot about the depths of what you learn.
Both levels cost $410 for the weekend and included ICRT manuals, symbols, and some other educational material. Julie provided snacks like fruit, pretzel bites, almonds, and trail mix, as well as crystallized water, so it was a nice touch. There’s plenty of parking, but it’s pretty deep in South County.
If you’re interested in learning more about reiki and it’s benefits, I highly recommend taking a class from Julie.”
“I took Julie’s Usui/Holy Fire I&II Reiki Practitioner’s training class and certification and whoa! What an amazing experience!
I had been wanting to find this class and a teacher so I could certify, and take the first few steps towards becoming a Reiki master. I did a lot of research of different teachers around the L.A.area. I live in L.A, but I kept being drawn back to Julie’s classes in O.C. I think it was her website where she explains what everything is that made me originally feel so drawn to taking her class. I felt as though everything had been clarified well, all of my questions had been answered, and she had a lot of knowledge and experience. It was really easy to sign up for her class.
As soon as I did I emailed her telling her what class I was hoping to take and how excited I was about it. She got back to me very quickly with an email explaining how the class would go and what I should do to prepare for it. Anytime I have messaged Julie even since then she has always gotten back to me very quickly.
By the end of the first class I almost didn’t want to leave. Julie made the whole class feel very welcomed. She did a fabulous job of teaching us with the manual, answering all of our questions, and sharing her own experiences with Reiki. By the end of the second day I felt very comfortable and pumped to go out into the world and start using Reiki in my everyday life.
I feel like this class is an amazing experience that everyone should think about. Not just for those who think about pursuing Reiki further. I feel like this class helped me come to terms with things I was struggling to let go, as well as giving me tips for metal health. A year, ago i was looking for good reiki teacher to further my education of Reiki. One of a shamanic practitioner and teacher suggested the name Julie Russel to me. I looked her up, she was little drive from me and a bit expensive than other teacher, but she was IRCT certified so i decided to go take her level class.
My first class with her was my second class for the same reiki level and the gap between the education was huge. She is certified with differnt teachers for different modalities and has years of experince so her classes mirror best of their approaches and practical use of these therapies.
