While students initially learn the symbols through instruction and practice, many practitioners gradually discover that the Holy Fire® Karuna Reiki® symbols become far more than techniques or energetic tools. Much like the traditional Usui Reiki symbols, the Holy Fire® Karuna Reiki® symbols are not simply intellectual images to memorize. Through placement, practice, chanting, meditation, drawing the symbols, and working with them during healing sessions, practitioners often develop a direct energetic relationship with each symbol over time.
Each symbol may begin revealing its own unique energetic presence and function within the practitioner’s awareness.

Within Holy Fire® Karuna Reiki®, the symbols are traditionally transmitted through placement and energetic ignition by a qualified Holy Fire® Karuna Reiki® Master Teacher. Through this energetic process, practitioners often experience the symbols becoming energetically accessible within their own field of consciousness.
Many practitioners describe the placement process as far more than symbolic ritual. Rather, it is often experienced as a genuine energetic shift that deepens spiritual sensitivity, compassion, intuition, and connection to the Reiki field.
Some practitioners, through direct inner experience, perceive the Holy Fire® Karuna Reiki® symbols like sacred energetic imprints or living frequencies placed within the subtle energy system during placement. Once this energetic relationship is established, the practitioner is then able to consciously activate the symbols through intention, drawing, visualization, sound, meditation, and healing practice.

As your practice deepens, the symbols themselves may begin to unfold layer upon layer of wisdom, compassion, healing, and consciousness moving beyond technique into direct experience, reverence, embodiment, and living connection.
